It never ceases to amaze me just how generous people can be both with their time and their gift-giving. Let me explain a little. When I decided I needed a few samples knit up for my fibre shows my Dad said to me "ask your aunt, I bet she'd love to help you!" and my reaction was, oh gosh, I don't want to overload anyone with projects especially since it can end up being a few! So on his last trip here, I talked to my auntie and she was so excited to help me...I could hear it on the phone! So I packed up some yarn and a pattern or two and sent them off. Well, not even 3 weeks later she called to say "I'm finished!" and I had to take a step back because it wasn't a small project, this was a sweater. No small feat for any of us, right?
Fast forward a few weeks and after sending along more yarn and projects to her she's sent back quite a few yet again...amazing and so generous!
Here they are:
Raveled: Fleurdelise Shawl
Raveled: Aldred Scarf
Raveled: Pineapple Shawl
And as if that wasn't enough, she also sent along two gift scarves for me from yarn I sent her as a gift. So so nice of her!
Raveled: Drop Stitch Scarf
Raveled: Pelusa Scarf
I am still so touched by her gifts to me not only in her time but also in the form of scarves. Aunties are the best! I am hoping to wear the scarves at least once or twice before winter goes away - they are both very snuggly and warm and of course, I think of my auntie when I put them on which really is the best part for any handknit or crocheted item don't you think?
If you'd like to see more photos of the shawls and scarves, be sure to click on over to the Ravelry links and of course, all the photos enlarge when clicked on.
Have a great weekend everyone!
