The Woodstock Fleece Festival this weekend was my last fibre show for the year. It had a great turnout and it seems to me that Ontario is definitely doing well when it comes to what it has to offer for these events. Last year I only visited the show but this year I was a vendor and I had a lovely time on Saturday! The event was well organized and despite the construction out front of the venue, shoppers still managed to find their way in! It just goes to show you that you can't keep a knitter or spinner away from their fibres. I got to put a lot of faces to names I have come to recognize as my customers and the day, albeit long, was a great one spent talking about yarn, knitting, spinning and fibre. It really can't get better than that and to be around those who share your passion for fibre is quite inspirational!
Cathy and I enjoyed the day and are making plans to return next year again but in a bigger booth. If you look closely, you can see my Zen Yarn Garden sign in the photo of the shopping area.
The one difference between the Knitters' Fair and this festival is the animals. This year the baby alpaca stole the show...everyone was talking about her...isn't she adorable? So cute!
How was your weekend? I'm busy taking inventory and re-organizing my office. I am happy that show season is over for the year so I get a bit of a rest but also sad that it is because the energy of these events is unlike any other.
